Hi, my name is Haydn and I run Caledon Coaching & Guiding.
About Us
I’m from Glasgow, Scotland. I started Caledon in 2024, after I passed my Mountain Leader Assessment and Level 3 Personal Training Qualification. I am super passionate about hillwalking and strength training, but I’ve always felt like there isn’t a strong enough link between the two - the mental and physical health benefits from both are huge, so I decided to create Caledon as a way of bringing these two activities together.
I grew up just outside of Glasgow, but me and my family spent almost every weekend and school holiday at our caravan in Argyll and it was here that I discovered my passion for the outdoors. From a young age, I understood the importance of getting outside and being active. I was always happiest when we were out playing in the forest, running into the sea or going on full day adventures in the hills behind the caravan park. This grew into a love for hillwalking, and getting to share that with others is something I don’t think I could ever tire of.
Building muscle and getting stronger in the gym was something I discovered a bit later in life, after I realised the importance of keeping fit and strong for not just our general health and wellbeing but for maintaining “hill fitness” too. But the most enjoyable aspect of training for me is showing others how to do the same - seeing someone get stronger and watching them realise that they themselves are making this positive change to their life never gets old.
